Critical Thinking

THE IMPORTANCE OF CRITICAL THINKING

Being an informed citizen is essential to the health of our republic, but simply having a lot of information is not enough.

We must to be able to sort fact from fiction, logic from emotion, and to recognize and refute propaganda with empirical evidence; we must understand and utilize critical thinking.

The objectivity of critical thinking provides the common framework which allows a free and civil society to exist.

“In a republican nation, whose citizens are to be led by reason and persuasion and not by force, the art of reasoning becomes of first importance.”

~  Thomas Jefferson
